The Creature (From the Black Lagoon) is one of the most popular kits from the original Aurora monster line.  The ridge on his head always generates discussion.  The ridge on the model is much more pronounced than the one in the movie, although in the sequel Revenge of the Creature it can be seen more prominently.  I'm not sure if it's the camera angle or a different mask.  I decided to leave the ridge as it is.  Another difference between the kit and the "real" Creature is the teeth.  In the movies we never see any.  I decided to leave them also.  Building this kit brought back some memories, unfortunately what triggered them was the poor fit, especialy where the legs meet the torso.  Also the feet don't fit very snug with the legs.  When I was a kid I could never get him to stand up.  I had glued him to the base before the feet were set so he kept leaning forward until he'd fall over.

Here's a better look at the base.  The main color is a mixture of Sandstone, Burnt Umber, Toffee Brown, and Dark Jungle Green.  I call it "Swamp Mud".

Sadly, my original Creature didn't make it past childhood, so there is no photo available of him.  He was either blown up or used for target practice.  Rest in pieces Creech.
