Another old favorite.  Thanks to Polar Lights for bringing these kits back.  The seams on this kit are kind of difficult to fill because of the detail around the bandages.  He's also quite a bit more challanging to paint than I thought he'd be, but that just makes it more fun.

This depiction of The Mummy is as he appeared in the Universal film The Mummy's Tomb (1942), starring Lon Chaney Jr. as The Mummy (Kharis).  Chaney also portrayed our hero in The Mummy's Ghost (1944) and The Mummy's Curse (1944).  While the base on this kit is interesting, none of these movies are set in Egypt.  They're all set in the US!

Here's a side view that gives a better look at the base detail.  I cheated a little and used a black india ink pen to fill the hyroglyphs, and then did a couple of washes over it.

And as always, here's the one I did as a kid in the '60's.  My guess is I was 7 give or take a year.  He looks like he's sitting on the column and waving to you.  I had a problem with letting the glue on the feet dry before attaching to the base so some of my old models tend to lean a bit.  I actually remember picking this one out at the store - Top Save (now long gone), Streator, IL (still there).
